Apple Cider Oatmeal

Since everyone has been home this week, I have been making a warm yummy breakfast. We've had goetta, french toast, biscuits and gravy, waffles and more. Some of those not so healthy. Today I am making oatmeal. It is cold outside and I want something warm, but good for me too. I used some apple cider that I had made this week. You could always use apple juice and add 1/2 t cinnamon.

Ingredients:
2 c old fashioned oats
1 c apple cider (I made Pioneer Woman's apple cider)
2 1/2 c milk (I used almond milk)
1/4 c maple syrup
2 dashes of salt

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
Stir occasionally and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and cook until oatmeal thickens.

Optional Toppings:
Almonds
Pecans
Walnuts
Craisins
Raisins
Chia Seeds
Granola
Fruit
