My family has always loved homemade waffles.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 c flour
2 t baking powder
1 T sugar
1/2 t salt
3 egg yolks, beaten
1/3 c vegetable oil
1 1/2 c milk
3 egg whites, beaten stiff
Directions:
Measure dry ingredients into mixing bowl and blend.
Combine egg yolks and milk.
Stir into dry ingredients. Stir in cooking oil.
Carefully fold in egg whites. Do NOT overmix.
Pour 1/2 c batter onto preheated waffle iron. Close and bake.
*Optional: You can add chopped pecans or chocolate chops on top of batter before closing waffle iron.
Serve with syrup. Makes 5-6 waffles.
