I love this sauce on pancakes or waffles or ice cream. It is so good and sugar free!
Ingredients:
3 cups berries (can use only one berry or mix it up - today I used blackberries, blueberries and raspberries)
1/3 c maple syrup
2 T lemon juice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
Cook over medium low heat, bringing to a boil.
Cook for about 10 minutes or until berries are falling apart and liquid begins to thicken.
Remove from heat and let cool 5-10 minutes.
Place in a blender and blend until liquified.
(You never want to put something hot into the blender or it will explode)
Pour into a small sieve or cheesecloth and strain out seeds.
You are left with a delicious fruity, sugar free sauce/syrup that is good on pancakes or waffles or ice cream or cheesecake or anything you want to add it to.
