1 box Spaghetti noodles
5 pieces of bacon (chopped into small pieces) *optional
1- lb ground beef
1/2 onion
1 red chili pepper, chopped
3-4 cloves garlic
pinch of black pepper
1 bay leaf
pinch ground cloves
3 T tomato paste
2 cups beef broth
3/4 cup red wine
1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
Directions:
Cut bacon into small pieces and fry in a deep skillet or dutch oven.
Then add 1 pound of ground beef. Crumble and fry. Drain grease.
Add onion, garlic and red and black pepper. Stir and cook 5 minutes.
Add red wine and deglaze pan. Let simmer 3 minutes.
Then add a pinch of cloves and a bay leaf.
Then add tomato paste, beef broth and tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring so it doesn’t stick. When it is thick, reduce to a simmer and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles, or your favorite pasta, or...
If you want to be really healthy, use spaghetti squash. Cut a spaghetti squash in half and scoop out the seeds. Rub surface with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Turn upside down, rind side up and bake on a cookie sheet in a 450 degree oven for 30-40 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes. Scrape out stringy spaghetti looking squash. Use this instead of pasta! Yum.
