I thought I would create a blog where I can post all of those gluten, sugar and dairy free recipes to share with others that are restricted in their diet or those that just want to eat healthier. Of course the rest of my family's diet is not restricted so I will share some of those recipes as well.
I am a wife and mother of three wonderful daughters. I love my paid job as a Family Ministry Pastor where I work with parents and families. In my free time I love to cook and try new recipes. I am also a yoga instructor and love helping others learn to relax.
I have two auto-immune diseases and have taken chemo and other serious meds for years. In 2011 I went to a new doctor and she promised to do her best to get me off of as many meds as possible and to help me feel better. A huge part of what she had me do was stop eating gluten, sugar, dairy, chocolate, peanuts and caffeine. Within months I had more energy and was able to go off all heavy duty meds. A year and a half later and I feel better than I have in years.
It is amazing what foods do to your body. I've read many books about food and diet and how they can affect your moods and arthritis and even ADHD. The most important thing I've ever read about food is in these verses from 1 Corinthians 16 "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
I look forward to sharing many of my cooking experiences and recipes with you!
FYI - In my recipes: t=teaspoon, T=Tablespoon, c=cup
