Pizza Sauce

My family loves this pizza sauce!

2 T olive oil
1/2 small onion, minced
1 large garlic clove,  minced
1 - 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes (or 4 cups fresh tomatoes, seeded and chopped)
1 tsp fresh minced or 1/2 tsp dried oregano
salt and pepper to taste

In a large saucepan set over medium heat, heat the olive oil and add the onion. 
Saute’ until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, stir for 1 minute. 
Add the tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper, and stir. 

Bring to a boil, then simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
